That's a nice segue into the next thing, which is how I use Dreamwidth (without giving up LJ completely, yet), and how you can too: Cood way to let people know you have a DW, in case they want to find you over there.

By setting up a default view friends group at LJ, you can choose not to have certain users appear on your flist, though you are still friends with them. This FAQ details how to set it up.
